If you are a birder, bird photographer, or simply an outdoor enthusiast, you have likely heard of the "Biggest Week in American Birding." Every May, at the edge of Lake Erie, Magee Marsh in Ohio comes to life with not only colorful warblers and migrant birds, but thousands of people walk along the boardwalk in hopes of seeing their target bird. I took in this spectacle in May of 2023 and I was not disappointed. I managed to snap over 6000 photos and came away with some amazing shots. My target bird, the Black-throated Blue Warbler, gave me multiple opportunities for some spectacular images! This Gallery is but a snippet of the amazing creatures that were captured during that week. Check out the Gallery in my Portfolio and check back often as I will be posting a video on my Youtube channel as well as a blog post concerning the logistics of such an adventure. Keep your face in the wind and your eyes on the skyline.
Hey!!! I took a bucket list adventure to Nepal in October of 2022. I trekked to Mount Everest Base camp and then headed to the Jungle to capture the Birds of Nepal. I have finally updated the gallery and added it to my Portfolio. Take a look, and stay tuned for the Landscapes of Nepal, including Mount Everest!
Hey all,
The Montana Bird Gallery has been updated with many birds from the 2022 adventure's. Also, I added dates to the photo captions. I may start making subfolders according to year as this gallery is getting rather large. Take some time and enjoy the over 200 photos in the gallery.
Look at the cool additions to the Sagebrush Sparrow, my favorite Montana Sparrow Species.
Hey all!
In April of 2022, I took in the bird migration at the famous Birding location of Dauphin Island Alabama. This small island off the coast of Alabama, and very near to Florida is a birding destination! The migration north fills the island with 100's of species during the spring and fall. I was able to record over 50 species per day and photograph 98 percent of them. The gallery is just a snapshot of the over 2000 photos
that I came away with. The target birds for the trip included the Scarlet Tanager, The Hooded Warbler, and the Kentucky Warbler. All three made an appearance and all three were photographed. Other notable species included a Swainson's Thrush, a Painted Bunting (no photo), a Blue-eyed Viero, and many waders along the coast. It was an amazing trip. This trip helped me reach over 500 birds for my life list. The adventure was everything I hoped for!
Take a minute, enjoy the photos, and if one speaks to you, message me and we can work out a lasting piece of wall art.

I have always had an interest in bird species. A few years ago my best friend wanted to go on a bird photography trip. It took about 7 minutes of photographing Lewis's Woodpeckers that got me hooked. Since that day I have spent many days in search of birds adding to my life species list. One bird that I have spent 3 winters looking for is the Common Redpoll. It's not a rare bird, but one that I wanted quality photographs of. This winter, while looking at the house finches at the feeder, I saw a small bird that didn't fit in. Soon, there were about 7 that were different. I knew. Common Redpolls. I grabbed the Canon 7d MK II and the Sigma 150-600 and waited for the shot. It wasn't long and I had over 100 frames of Common Redpoll to go through. I found this shot to be among the top.
Sometimes, you don't have to go far to seek adventure. This took place in my backyard. Close to home. Close to coffee maker. I always try to make an adventure out of something everyday. It's how I get better. It's how I grow.
Gatta love Spring in Yellowstone National Park. No people, newborn animals, bears, and the start of wild flower season. Make sure to check out some of the recently added pics from my last two day trips!!!
