Common RedPollI have always had an interest in bird species. A few years ago my best friend wanted to go on a bird photography trip. It took about 7 minutes of photographing Lewis's Woodpeckers that got me hooked. Since that day I have spent many days in search of birds adding to my life species list. One bird that I have spent 3 winters looking for is the Common Redpoll. It's not a rare bird, but one that I wanted quality photographs of. This winter, while looking at the house finches at the feeder, I saw a small bird that didn't fit in. Soon, there were about 7 that were different. I knew. Common Redpolls. I grabbed the Canon 7d MK II and the Sigma 150-600 and waited for the shot. It wasn't long and I had over 100 frames of Common Redpoll to go through. I found this shot to be among the top. Sometimes, you don't have to go far to seek adventure. This took place in my backyard. Close to home. Close to coffee maker. I always try to make an adventure out of something everyday. It's how I get better. It's how I grow. Common RedpollPerched on a deer antler Comments
